A Simple Transaction

You know Her. You know how much she costs.

Are you willing to pay the price?

Zales. The place to go when you are ready to pay through the nose for an ancient rock that will finally break down her defenses. No, she still doesn't care for you all that much-- but how many karats did you say this was, again?

Try to forget how much that rock costs when you go house-hunting and you realize you don't have enough cash for the down payment or closing costs.

And try not to kick yourself for ignoring the warning signs; you married a woman who uses the word "gosh." That should have been your first clue that it was going to be your job to explain where babies come from.

  1. In my opinion diamond jewelry is something I get my girlfriend when I cant think of a good gift to get her and honestly I think thats what goes through her mind as well but, really, what can she say bad about a 1200 necklace? Either jewelry or a coach purse. Those are the old standby gifts.

  2. The way the one guy dangles the necklace in front of the window to the startled woman inside just screams "Ok, you're gonna open that door NOW, aren't you? Because I've got my 'entrance fee' right here."

  3. How shocked could that first girl really be. She is already wearing a freakin diamond necklace that looks like a pretty substantial karat. Maybe it is because I am from the NY metro area but no girl that good looking hasnt been given jewelry by several past boyfriends.

  4. It's funny- Jewelry commercials are the one exception I've found to the "Gorgeous women/Ugly guys" rule which seems to permeate tv ads. In most jewelry ads I've seen, it's the women who don't really look good enough for the guys wooing them. I guess it's just me, but I don't see anything spectacular in any of these women.

  5. My question -- why do only white husbands give diamonds to white wives? Black guys don't buy diamonds? Asian women don't like to receive them? What?
